The Brabus Bodo represents a defining moment for Brabus, marking their growth from high-performance tuners to creators of their own bespoke hyper-GT.
Powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, the Bodo produces 1,000 hp and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, with a top speed of 360 km/h.
Based on the Aston Martin Vanquish platform and marking 50 years of business for the brand, the Bodo features a dramatic black carbon-fiber body and a rich interior.
Bodo Buschmann, a mechanical engineer, founded Brabus in 1977 after working in the automotive parts industry. He passed away in 2018. Headquartered in Germany, the brand built its reputation by tuning up Mercedes AMGs, with vehicles like the Rocket 900, a 900-horsepower Mercedes E-Class, and the G-Class Widestar, a 700-horsepower SUV.
This posthumhous tribute asks the question, what if Bodo had time for one more project. From the press release: “I want to build a large coupe,” we would hear Bodo say time and again. “A Gran Turismo. Attitude-forward, high-class, unapologetic. I want it to be inspired by the golden age of the automobile, yet translated into modern day. Progressive, bold, effortless in its presence, powerful and undeniably BRABUS.”
The Bodo’s interior includes custom leather almost everywhere, a digital instrument cluster and plenty of carbon fiber. We haven’t had the chance to inspect the car in the flesh yet, but it’s clearly got a foreboding and luxurious appearance. We’re looking forward to seeing more.
