We held a Winter Cars & Coffee to see if anyone would come. Here’s what went down

Freezing temperatures, ice and wind didn’t stop a few hundred Canadian car enthusiasts from getting together on a Saturday morning in March.

It’s still very much winter in Canada, and while many seasonal-only vehicles remain in garages avoiding the ice and salt, we know there are others out there like us who are dedicated (mad?) enough to drive their cars year round. So we decided to give them a reason to get out on a chilly Saturday morning, putting out the call that we were kicking the season off a little early this year.

It was our first ever Winter Cars & Coffee, and we were blown away by the turnout.

Hagerty Garage and Social in Burlington was a gracious and convenient host, allowing attendees to warm up with coffee and hot chocolate inside where there were dozens of rare and collectors cars to look at. The Ontario Provincial Police Highway Safety Division also had a display, and the local Halton Police were also there to support safe driving.

Outside, the lot was lined with proof that Canadians drive their cars. Even those cars. Even in March. The roster included a Lamborghini Temerario and Bentley Continental GT Speed courtesy of Grand Touring Automobiles, a Porsche 911 GTS T-Hybrid from Porsche Centre Oakville, a BMW M2CS, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Lamborghini Revuelto, MG B GT, Acura NSX, Honda S2000, Ferrari 360 Modena, Shelby GT350R and McLaren 720S.

A huge shoutout to everyone who came by, and a special thank you to everyone who brought their cars. Keep driving them.

See you at the next one, puffer coat hopefully not required.
